Solitude Dining - the act of eating alone without being lonely. A performative meal as an invitation to make half a table whole, by having a meal with yourself. Providing a moment to be with that one person who is always there. That one person who is carrying around everything you experience. That one person who will never leave.
Each guest was served a 3 course meal influenced by Fridas Scandinavian roots made with seasonal produce and products, regionally sourced.
As much as this was a meal, it is also a performance. It's an act between the person dining and their reflection, an exchange that is only between them. For other visitors of the art center, they could observe this performance taking place, just as any other artwork exhibited.
The dining experience was part of Nafas, an exhibition and a festival celebrating the union between food and art, at The Invisible Dog Art Center.
