PINK CARROT
Mural | 2025
Troy Farmers Market, Troy, NY
ThThe Pink Carrot mural continues a practice rooted in community building. Frida Foberg’s work is driven by a need for a “why” - a reason that ties creativity to place and people. But when she began working with carrots, there wasn’t an immediate answer - just a gift of fresh carrots from a farmers market and a willingness to follow the process. What emerged was an ever-growing, ever-adapting pink carrot, a symbol of persistence and connection.
In the Troy Atrium, a building maybe past its glory, people still gather as a vital part of the community - the farmers market. The pink carrot pushes through this built environment, giving space for dialogue and reflection. What keeps us rooted? What compels us to grow? Sometimes, the answer isn’t clear - but by following the question, something vibrant might emerge.
